Merle Norman Suite
The suite is large with a spacious bedroom, private sitting room with a vintage partner’s desk that belonged to Merle Norman and her husband in Los Angeles, a bathroom with whirlpool tub, steam shower and two sinks. The private patio features a relaxing fountain and can be accessed from the bedroom or the bathroom. This is a great place to have your morning coffee or order an afternoon tea tray.
This end of the ranch house was Merle Norman’s retreat. The rock wall fireplace is original, with locally quarried stone; feel free to light a fire and relax in your private suite. The original wood beam ceiling, made of notched Arizona ponderosa pines, is beautifully preserved. Merle Norman kept her collectibles on the mantle, and now we use it as a place to showcase southwestern and Southern Arizona art.
Custom Monterrey furniture, sumptuous historic-patterned woven fabrics, ranch-style furnishings, and unique modern rugs create a refreshing Western decor designed by Sunset Interiors & Design Studio. There is a custom armoire that conceals all the modern amenities one could hope for: flat-screen television with many satellite channels including music, as well as seven HBO channels, DVD player, mini-refrigerator and personal safe.
